The Amazon is unlike any other river in the world. It is the second longest, over 6000KM, and has the largest water flow by far, 300,000 Cubic Meters of water every second, about 1/5 of all the fresh water in the world. When the water is at its highest level, the Amazon can be 560KM wide.
More than one-third of all species in the world live in the Amazon Rainforest.
The river itself contains freshwater dolphins and more than 2,000 species of fish which is more than the entire Atlantic Ocean!
